I woke up this morning and felt a little under the weather. I spent a fair bit of yesterday working outside on my friend's backyard. There was digging, hauling dirt, heavy lifting and working out in the rain. I love hands on projects like this, but I'm feeling a little drained today. I've found my 'golden drink' concoction of ingredients does wonders for keeping sickness at bay. I've seen all sorts of combinations of this magical elixir, and I'm not the only one loving the benefits of it! What's even better is I actually enjoy how it tastes! Some people like to take a swig of apple cider in the morning, but pairing it with honey [along with all the other ingredients] is what makes it far more palatable for me. I'm tempted to start making this an everyday morning routine for me- it's THAT good!
GOLDEN DETOX DRINK
Enjoy this sweet, spicy, tangy drink anytime of day. I like to drink this when I'm feeling under the weather or in the morning before breakfast.
- 10oz. filtered water
- 1 tsp honey [I've been using cinnamon creamed honey which adds an extra little zing!]
- 1 TB ulfiltered apple cider vinegar
- 1 TB fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- pinch of cayenne pepper
Heat water [I pour mine directly into a big mug and microwave it for 45-60 seconds]. Add the honey and quickly stir to dissolve. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir thoroughly. Drink immediately and enjoy!
