'I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring' - David Bowie Quite right. I'm finally back to States of Reverie after a bit of a hiatus. After getting back from Charleston, I've spent a lot of time working, writing, editing photos, cooking [mainly recipes for this site!] and uh... playing Pokemon Go. [you heard me right, judge as you want!] Pokemon distractions aside, I'm hoping by the end of the week to start a regular schedule of posting.
I can sometimes be a perfectionist, terrified of posting anything if it isn't well written, beautiful, or profound. [though I'm fairly certain I haven't put out anything profound just yet!] I need to keep reminding myself this site is an outlet for my many interests, and is more for myself rather than for the judgement of anyone else. I'm happy to share States of Reverie with my friends and family and strangers who come across it, and I need not worry so much about what I post. So expect a lot of photography, recipes, random thoughts, and who knows what else!
On my end of things, there will be lots of nights of me working at the computer whilst sipping copious amounts of tea.
Just in case you're curious, this series of photos is from a photoshoot I worked on the other week for HGTV and DIY Network. I'll share the article with you once it goes love [not sure when that will be!], but I only wish my actual desk looked quite so stylish and artfully curated.
I made a point to show off my gorgeous new collection of Jane Austen books. I've had the whole collection in random old paperbacks over the years, but I finally decided to spring for a hardbound collection. It helps that the covers are colorful and beautifully crafted and I can use them in photoshoots now [win win!].
Well there's that; a brief chat about getting back to this website and a slight tangent about a lovely little desk and my collection of Jane Austen novels!
